В Сиене, как раз на вершине величия и за несколько лет до эпидемии чумы, хотели собор расширить так, чтобы существовавший на тот момент главный неф стал трансептом. Успели сделать внешние стены. Одна там так и стоит - тоже глядя пустыми окнами.
